No Ozone Depleting Components
No Air Pollution Potential
D-Zolve 298 is designed to remove hard to strip powder coatings and
paints including stubborn catalyzed coatings, epoxy primers, epoxy paints, polyurethane
paints and alkyds.
Fast Acting
D-Zolve
298 is a fast acting paint remover. Its performance time is similar
to that of methylene chloride. D-Zolve 298 penetrates
through the paint layers, breaks the bond between the solid surface and the
primer coat. It then causes the paint to separate from the surface.
Performance time will depend upon the number of paint layers, their thickness
and the ambient temperature. If the temperature of the surface to be stripped
is elevated, the paint lift time is dramatically reduced. At lower temperatures,
the lift time will be longer.
Easy to Use
D-Zolve 298 can be used in an immersion tank, applied
with a brush, or sprayed on. When used in an immersion tank, the parts are immersed
into the solution, allowing the paint to lift and fall off. Heating the liquid
to 150°F and adding agitation will significantly accelerate the stripping
process. When brushing or spraying, allow D-Zolve to lift the paint before removing
with water pressure or squeegee.
Reduces Health and Environmental Risks
D-Zolve 298 is designed to minimize health and environmental
risks. Non-carcinogenic, it is safer than methylene chloride. It also reduces
the amount of hazardous waste generated.
D-Zolve 298 is a water-based product which is acid
activated. Although containing a relatively small amount of acid, wearing protective
gloves and goggles or face protection is recommended (for details consult the
MSDS).
Compatibility
D-Zolve 298 is suitable for use with metals such as
aluminum, titanium, cast iron, and low-carbon steel. D-Zolve 298
is designed to meet the requirements of MIL R-81903A Type II. It also is designed
to meet the requirements of Stress-Corrosion of Titanium Alloys ASTM F-945 Type
II.
