D-Zolve 1012 is designed to efficiently strip
hard-to-remove powder
coatings from intricate part shapes. It is used in an immersion tank at room
temperature eliminating the need for heating. Additionally, waste solids can
be filtered out to prolong the useful life of the solution.
Compatibility
D-Zolve 1012 is compatible with most metals and plastics. It safely removes
powder coatings from galvanized steel, aluminum, zinc, copper, brass, carbon
steel and stainless steel as well as most plastic and silicone substrates.
Fast Acting
D-Zolve 1012 is a fast acting powder coating remover. Stripping times typically
range from 30 minutes or less to 1-2 hours. Factors which determine the stripping
time required are thickness, uniformity and type of powder coating. Ambient
temperature also effects the time required to remove the coating, the higher
the ambient temperature, the less time required. An ambient temperature of 68°F/20°C
is sufficient.
D-Zolve 1012 penetrates several layers of a coating to break the bond between
the metal or plastic substrate and the paint. At the same time, it reduces the
coating to its powder particles. The solid particles drop to the bottom of the
immersion tank while the pigment dye may remain suspended in the D-Zolve solution.
Easy to Use
D-Zolve 1012 is designed for use in an immersion tank at room temperature. It
does not require any blasting, scrubbing or scraping to facilitate stripping,
however, agitation is recommended. Agitation can be achieved by either having
a parts basket move in an up and down motion or by circulating the the liquid
to generate friction with the parts. Agitation also helps prevent the dissolved
paint from lingering on parts. Once parts are removed from the tank, any remaining
residue should be rinsed off with pressurized water.
Prolonged Service Life
To minimize loss through evaporation D-Zolve 1012 is designed to evaporate very
slowly. Its useful life can be further extended by keeping the tank covered
and periodically filtering out solid particles that result from the stripping
process.
Safety and Environmental
D-Zolve 1012 is non-flammable, does not contain known carcinogenic components
and has no hazardous air pollutant potential. It is readily biodegradable and
contains no ozone depleting components. It is recommended that chemical resistant
goggles or face shield and nitrile, or similar chemical resistant gloves, be
employed.
